Trauma Informed Practice

Self awareness is integral to a trauma informed approach as it is the means by which we may identify our biases and assumptions about how one "should" react in a given setting. This helps to mitigate the possibility of unintentional retraumatisation.

Learning ultimately supports the well-being of the self, the family, the community, the land, the spirits, and the ancestors. Learning is holistic, reflexive, reflective, experiential, and relational (focused on connectedness, on reciprocal relationships, and a sense of place).
